A septic system is the one part of a rural build that has to be designed, filed and installed by the book. We do the heavy work and coordinate with the people who handle design and filing.
- Site assessment support: test pits and access for your designer
- Excavation for the tank, pump chamber and distribution field
- Tank and pump chamber placement
- Distribution field (trenches or beds) built to the filed design
- Connection lines from the house and drainage to keep surface water off the field
- Backfill, grading and site cleanup
- Standalone installs or as part of full site development with clearing, driveway and house pad

Our Process
- Site visit. We look at access, slope and where the field can go
- Design and filing. We work with an engineer who designs the system and handles the Island Health filing
- Locates and quote. BC 1 Call locates, then a written quote based on the filed design
- Install. Excavation, tank and chamber placement, distribution field built to spec
- Certification and cleanup. Backfill and grading. Certification is completed with Island Health
Permits: Island Health Filing
In British Columbia, onsite sewage systems are regulated by the Sewerage System Regulation. Before installation, the system must be designed by an authorized person and filed with Island Health, and certified after installation.
We work with engineers on septic design and Island Health filings, and we build to the filed design.
- BC 1 Call before digging: Before any excavation we request a locate through BC 1 Call so buried hydro, gas, telecom and water lines are marked. The service is free and is the expected first step before any ground disturbance.
Service Areas
Based in Campbell River and Quadra Island, we serve all surrounding areas and regularly barge equipment to Cortes Island, Read Island, Sonora Island, West and East Thurlow Island, and the other Discovery Islands. We also take on work in the Comox Valley. If your property is boat- or barge-access only, ask us. Our fleet is sized and rigged for barge transport.
